Operation of the 860, 850 and 851 Control
Panel

F1 Button (All functions are
automatically set to default unless they are manually changed or the
machine is initialized through the service mode)
|
- Forward/Back - Traverse through stitches in a design.
Choose From:
- 1 ST - (Default) One stitch at a time. The pantograph
moves as well
- 1 COL - Press Forward/Back to move to the beginning
of the next or previous color change. Automatically moves on color
change at a time
- n ST - Press Forward/Back to move by a number of
stitches at a time. Determined by how long the Forward or Back button
is held. The pantograph does not move until the SET button is
pressed
- n COL - Moves a number of color changes at once.
Automatically positions at the beginning of a color
change
Toggle through the options
by using the right arrow key on Hoop Position.
- Trim Length - Determines the thread length tail at the
end of a trim. Choose from 1 (Shortest) to 5 (Longest). Default is set
at 3. A higher number helps when utilizing trims between small
letters
- Trim Jump - Trims performed automatically on data
having continuous jumps more that the set value. In the Designer
Series Software the jump code default is set at 3. Each time the
machine sees three jump stitches it performs a trim.
- Satin Adjustment - Add up to .5mm in the horizontal (X)
and/or vertical (Y) direction.
- Hoop Speed - Control the amount of friction between the
fabric and the needle plate. The default is one. For heavy
garments, such as wool a higher setting (3) is
recommended.
- Bobbin Counter - (860 only) Press the Right Hoop
Position arrow and toggle to CNT. Arrow down to the preset number
line. Use the right arrow for increments of 100. Start out with
36,000. Place a fresh bobbin into the bobbin case. Once the
machine has stitched the preset number the Lower Thread Run Out sensor
will activate.
- Lock Stitch - Adds a lock stitch to the design prior to
a trim.
- Embroidery Information - Displays the number of
garments stitched out as a running tally of stitches sewn. Arrow
down to Errors for information on any difficulty the machine has
had.
F2 Button
(these functions affect the current design and may only be accessed at the
Embroidery Start position)
- Rotate - Turns the design counter clockwise in 90
degrees increments.
- Mirror - Inverts the design on the horizontal axis (X)
or the vertical axis (Y)
- Hoop Flat or Hoop Cap - Toggle between the Flat and Cap
modes. This function is normally set when the machine is first
turned on, not through this menu.
- Memory-Choose Multi for storing more than one
embroidery job or Single for storing one job in the machine.
- Machine - This function is infrequently used. The
recommended setting is 1.
- Repeat Settings - Similar to Copy and Paste.
Repeats the design horizontally (X) or vertically (Y).
- Hoop Setting - Program one of thirty available hoop
sizes used for the job. Commonly used in Europe and the Orient on
flat unassembled goods. This function is not
recommended.
Design
Menu
- Input Design - Choose from either the PC or a diskette
by toggling with the right position arrow key.
- PC-Communications Driver in the Designer Series
Software needs to be activated
- Toyota-Reads Toyota designs from the Data Folder on a
diskette. Press the up position arrow to veiw different designs. Press
SET to input the chosen design.
- TA/BA/Z-Reads Tajima, Barudan and ZSK formats from
the diskette's root directory. Press the up position arrow to view
different designs and press SET to input.
- Select Design - Choose from designs that are currently
saved in the machine.
- Delete Design - Removes a design that has been
previously saved.
- Initialize Memory - Clears all the design data in the
machine's memory chip.
