AMC437 Cylindrical Wide Cap Option
TOYOTA Models 850, 851, 860

  1. Turn off the machine and gently move the pantograph by hand all the way to the right if you are facing the front of the machine.
  2. Remove the tubular or flat hoop holder from the pantograph tab.
  3. Replace the flat needle plate with the ‘domed’ needle plate. Be sure the needle goes through the center of the hole in the needle plate. Lower the needle bar by turning the hand wheel at the back of the machine in the direction of the arrow. Adjust the needle plate and tighten the 2 needle plate screws.
  4. Raise the needle bar by turning the hand wheel in the direction of the arrow so the needle is at its full ‘up’ position.
  5. Note these parts on the Cap Attachment Driver:

    • Bracket Mounting (3 of them with "U" slots in each end)
    • Pantograph Tongue (connected to the cable)
    • Locating 1/2" hole (on bottom-has ball bearings inside it)

  6. Assemble the Cap Attachment Driver onto the machine by inserting it around the lower shaft housing/rotary hook/needle plate making sure that:

    • The Locating ½” Hole goes onto the Locating Post (under the lower shaft housing).
    • The Bracket Mountings go under the Pantograph Bridge onto the posts of the black hand knobs.
    • The Pantograph Tongue attaches to the pantograph Carriage Bracket. Use the hand knobs to attach the Bracket Mountings to the back of the pantograph bridge and the 2 short thumb screws to attach the Pantograph Tongue to the pantograph Carriage Bracket (See #1 above). These are the same short thumbscrews used for the flat hoop holder. Don’t use the screws from the tubular hoop holder. They are too long and will protrude and contact the lower shaft housing.

  7. Gently move the pantograph and Cap Attachment Driver in or out by hand so that the chrome “clam shell” halves of the Cap Attachment Driver are on either side of the ‘domed’ part of the needle plate. The snap clamps on the Driver should be at the "10:00 and 2:00" position.
  8. Turn on the machine. When Initializing use the right position ARROW key to toggle to CAP then press SET. Press SET again. Press F1 , then arrow down to HOOP SPEED . Use the right ARROW key and toggle to "3" then press SET again. You’re ready to go. Press START POINT , then DATA and enter the JOB # as you normally would.
  9. NOTE: Make sure your design is no more than 2.5 inches tall (closer to 2 inches for low profile caps) or you may get a LIMIT ERROR. This means that:

    1. Your design doesn't fit in the sewing field of the hat or
    2. It is not centered. You can use the ARROW KEYS to center the design vertically and horizontally as you TRACE it on the cap.
