Sewing on Auto Floor Mats can be easy when you keep a few simple rules in mind:

• Use a Carpet Master (shown below). This item is available on ToyotaEmbParts.com for both the TOYOTA ESP 9000 (part# 670-MST-9 ) and TOYOTA Expert models 860, 851, and 850 (part# 670-MST-1 ).
• Always use a 90/14 sharp point needle with the Carpet Master. The Carpet Master includes a sleeve of 10 of these needles.
• Because of the dense pile on auto floor mats, it is very important to use HEAVY underlay in your design! Also, using a rinseaway topfilm is recommended.
• If you have satin stitches in your design, you may wish to try narrow column underlay. 
• Recommended underlay settings are: underlay width = 75%, underlay density = 50.0 rows.
• The tensions will depend on the underside of the mats, but you may want to loosen the tensions by one full turn to the left (looser) on the main tensions of the needles you will be using.
