F1 Button (All functions are automatically set to default unless they are manually changed or the machine is initialized through the service mode)

  1. Forward/Back - Traverse through stitches in a design. Choose From:

    1. 1 ST - (Default) One stitch at a time. The pantograph moves as well

    2. 1 COL - Press Forward/Back to move to the beginning of the next or previous color change. Automatically moves on color change at a time

    3. n ST - Press Forward/Back to move by a number of stitches at a time. Determined by how long the Forward or Back button is held. The pantograph does not move until the SET button is pressed

    4. n COL - Moves a number of color changes at once. Automatically positions at the beginning of a color change

Toggle through the options by using the right arrow key on Hoop Position.

  2. Trim Length - Determines the thread length tail at the end of a trim. Choose from 1 (Shortest) to 5 (Longest). Default is set at 3. A higher number helps when utilizing trims between small letters

  3. Trim Jump - Trims performed automatically on data having continuous jumps more that the set value.  In the Designer Series Software the jump code default is set at 3.  Each time the machine sees three jump stitches it performs a trim.

  4. Satin Adjustment - Add up to .5mm in the horizontal (X) and/or vertical (Y) direction.

  5. Hoop Speed - Control the amount of friction between the fabric and the needle plate.  The default is one.  For heavy garments, such as wool a higher setting (3) is recommended.

  6. Bobbin Counter - (860 only) Press the Right Hoop Position arrow and toggle to CNT.  Arrow down to the preset number line.  Use the right arrow for increments of 100. Start out with 36,000.  Place a fresh bobbin into the bobbin case.  Once the machine has stitched the preset number the Lower Thread Run Out sensor will activate.

  7. Lock Stitch - Adds a lock stitch to the design prior to a trim.

  8. Embroidery Information - Displays the number of garments stitched out as a running tally of stitches sewn.  Arrow down to Errors for information on any difficulty the machine has had.

F2 Button (these functions affect the current design and may only be accessed at the Embroidery Start position)

  1. Rotate - Turns the design counter clockwise in 90 degrees increments.

  2. Mirror - Inverts the design on the horizontal axis (X) or the vertical axis (Y)

  3. Hoop Flat or Hoop Cap - Toggle between the Flat and Cap modes.  This function is normally set when the machine is first turned on, not through this menu.

  4. Memory-Choose Multi for storing more than one embroidery job or Single for storing one job in the machine.

  5. Machine - This function is infrequently used.  The recommended setting is 1.

  6. Repeat Settings - Similar to Copy and Paste.  Repeats the design horizontally (X) or vertically (Y).

  7. Hoop Setting - Program one of thirty available hoop sizes used for the job.  Commonly used in Europe and the Orient on flat unassembled goods.  This function is not recommended.
